Entering a Trial Seminar Presented by Jane Mohr

Date: September 25, 2023
Time: 5-7PM
Location: NDTC (Nashville Dog Training Club)
413 Allied Dr. Nashville, TN 37211

Cost: 25.00 Members, 35.00 Non-Members
Number of available spots: 20

Suitable for: Beginners, Intermediates, and upper level competitors.
Also for competitors from other venues wanting to get involved in AKC Agility or Obedience.

NDTC is offering a wonderful service to exhibitors new to the world of AKC Agility or Obedience, and even long time experienced exhibitors may find some information useful.

Jane has been competing in agility since before the AKC existed, starting in USDAA.
Over the years, she has become both an AKC licensed trial secretary and an AKC licensed Agility judge.
She has served on the Agility Advisory Committee in both 2005 and 2013 and judged the AKC National Championships in 2010.

This seminar will cover everything that exhibitors need to know about how to enter their first trial, how to correctly fill out an entry form, and what the rules are applying to enter for a trial.
She will provide a list of links for resources that may be useful to the exhibitors, from online entry sites to where to find forms on the AKC website.

General rules and regulations will be discussed, and how the trial actually runs, and where your money goes.
How the measuring process works, and what to expect from the AKC and how to verify your progress in the AKC world of agility.
Day of trial expectations will be covered, including what to take, when to be there, how to check in, and the need to volunteer.

For registration please contact Kayla Turner at kaylaleeturner@gmail.com
Payment will be due prior to the seminar, via check or Paypal (additional details provided during the registration process).
No refunds will be given.

Trick Dog Workshop with Kayla Turner

This workshop will be part instructional, part hands-on.

We will cover some of the basics of luring/shaping/capturing.
We will discuss and demonstrate foundational behaviors needed to build more complicated behavior chains/trick routines such as paws on an object, hold, back up, and targeting.

If your dog is newer to trick training, we will cover some of the tricks that count toward AKC’s Trick Dog Novice title.

If your dog is experienced with tricks, we will help you work to build short trick sequences.

Your dog must be able to crate calmly either in your car or the building for our instructional portion.
Your dog must be able to work in a moderately distracting environment.

Limited 10 dogs, working spots

Members working spot 50.00
Non-member working spot 75.00

Payment is due prior to workshop.
No refunds will be given.
